Yet Santa was undeterred! "I KNOW I'll find Vancouver if I just keep moving south!" Santa said to himself with a sigh |
But whom to ask????? |
Just then Santa saw something twinkling in his eye someone he thought he knew, could it be...?! Yes it Was!!! The iceman cometh! |
Santa was Saved! |
"Ho Ho Ho!" said Santa "Do you know the way to Vancouver, Mr. Iceman? I need to get there Fast, and I was wondering if you know the quickest route?" |
"Ho Ho Ho!" said Santa merrily "Thank You, Mr. Iceman: you're a really cool guy!" and touching his finger aside his nose, off down the trail Santa did go! |
He had written down the address before he'd left the North Pole and pulled it out of his pocket just to double check. "Yup! this is the place" he said to himself. Then laying his finger aside his nose up onto the roof he flew, then the down the chimney he slid, dragging the heavy sled behind him. To be honest, it was a bit of a tight squeeze and when he'd thought about it later, he realized that he could've just left the sled on the front porch, but hey...! what's done is done! He deposited all the gifts he had been transporting, under the Christmas tree and was headed home again before you could say "Bob's your uncle!" "High Ho High Ho it's home from work I go!" Santa whistled happily to himself as he headed back to the North Pole. |
And so that's how the
Actually Happened~SPECIAL DELIVERY for Elizabeth from Birgit in Germany honest!😉 |
with the following inscription inside: |
with a holiday photo of Fluby and Rosey as well as a personal note from Birgit herself which Elizabeth has saved and placed inside her journal. |
There was a separately wrapped gift which contained |
A very special calendar; with each month: a garden of Beary Bears! ❤️ and well as some Dee- licious marzipan which lasted- hmmm....? (perhaps I won't tell you how long they didn't last!) hee hee |
but I will tell you that they were finger licking good! |
Soon there was a square dance going on with the golden bears "do-sa-do-ing" and "allemande left-ing" with each tiny snowman What a hoot that was to watch! |
YEE HAW! "now bow to your partner!" after which they all collapsed in laughter and happy exhaustion |
BUT WAIT! there were many other things inside the package too! There were Pearl beads, a buddha, and a duck; |
fancy beads and scissors wooden spools; an alarm clock, metal charms and gingerbread men; |
a length of cotton lace, numbers, a healthy succulent in a cup, |
And room for a pony! |
Birgit also included this Extra Special Traditional Christmas gift with origins from the German Ore Mountains! ❤️❤️ |
Elizabeth treasures every precious item from Birgit and can't wait to feature some of them in her upcoming blogs! (with the exception of the marzipan of course) |
So THANK YOU Fluby and Rosey and Especially Birgit! |
"May your days be MERRY AND BRIGHT and may ALL your Christmases be white!" and "GOD BLESS US EVERY ONE!" ❤️ elizabeth |

How lovely that you were included in a Santa delivery from Germany. My husband told me last night that in Germany, if you put your shoes outside on the 6th of December, you can expect to receive a gift already. Next year I’m going to try it! Thank you for the lovely story, Elizabeth, and enjoy all your lovely presents on Christmas day.
ReplyDeleteI always find traditional Christmas customs interesting as well as how many of them are adopted and/or modified over time, so good luck with putting your shoes outside next Christmas! ;D
DeleteMerry Christmas to you Megan! :D

Dear Elizabeth, What a Wonderful, Marvelous and Fantastical(And well illustrated) Travel Tale you have brought to us! And then it is even better when you get to opening the gifts... the tiny square dance is too funny! As you know, Birgit is so generous and spreads her Magic around the World... I am so glad your package arrived in Time!!! Santa really went the Extra Mile for you! :):) I hope your Holiday is filled with Joy!!
ReplyDeleteDuring his off seasons, Santa enjoys watching Rick Steves on t.v., which may explain his reasons for taking the road less travelled, on foot! ;D

Dear Elizabeth, I'm so happy for you that Santa did find his way to your home this year, especially for this special delivery and what lovely story you told us, I loved reading it!!
ReplyDeleteBirgit truly is a surprising Santa when it comes to surprising blogfriends, I can tell you that too. Her ways of delivering packages was 'quite odd' this year, hehehehe ;)!! Enjoy each one of all these tiny treasures and let your tiny snowmen and bears dance again on the New Year's gala, okay ;O)?
Merry Christmas to you and yours, dear friend!
Warm hug, Ilona
Birgit is a Very Special lady and it was a most unexpected Special Delivery and I'm glad that you enjoyed reading about it my dear friend! :D
DeleteWishing you a Very Merry Christmas Ilona and a Happy Dancing New Year too!
elizabeth
What a wonderful post - and I should be surprised that Santa made this very special and personal delivery for you but I'm not. I know you've been a good girl because you shared your talent with blogland bringing inspiration to all of us. And of course Santa and I always order our Aspirine together to get a discount - we share this habit of getting a headache whenever Fluby and Rosey start to argue. *LOL*
ReplyDeleteBut honestly, I'm happy that I was able to send a little joy over the Atlantic Ocean and I'm glad that all arrived safe and sound, even with the carrot noses and beary ears on. It was such fun to see the square dance, must be the Canadian air… they don't have these dancing skills from me. ;O)
As we have 2 official days of Christmas in Germany I can still say: Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Hugs
Birgit (who really had to smile about Mr. Iceman's Christmas gifts… not surprising that he is happy)
Yes Birgit there is something about the "Canadian Air" that causes Golden Bears and Tiny Snowmen to get out their Dancing shoes and begin "cutting-a-rug" as the saying goes, and none of it could have happened without YOU! so once again I THANK YOU for making my Christmas- Extra EXTRA Special this year! 😊
DeleteMay GOD bless you with every Good and Gracious Blessing and keep you and your Beary Bears in the Bestest of health and Hopelessly HAPPY in the coming New Year!
Hershey's Kisses and Big Beary-Huggs ❤️
