STUDIO 'MESS'- EEEEEE!!!!!

Okay, I decided to face the music and admit that I have a serious problem!   And here it is;.... My work space.  It has been like this  for days only this is now how it looks now after I, half- heartedly, straightened it up.  OH woe is me.  This IS serious!

See that messy desk/table?  This is where it all happens and out of all the unavailable work space,  I work right on the edge of the table that I sit at,  on approximately 10 inches of surface.  Sheeesh? I do wish everyone to know that I am NOT a lousy housekeeper.  This is NOT the norm in every other room  of the house, with one exception that is, My teenage daughter's room!  NOW, THERE is a SERIOUS problem!

In My living room; ' serenity now'

  1. Dear Elizabeth,
I sense panic in the realization that your hobby room space may be out of control.
You may just require a mini musketeers intervention.
Your living room is always a "muy tranquillo" spot to discuss things, but your craft room is a wonderland of treasures! Just revel in all the possibilities and all will, once again, fall into place.
    As always, your friend

  2. Hello again Janine, I,m past panic and am sinking into resignation! I have promised myself that I WILL CLEAN IT UP TONIGHT! Now, lets see if I do. I used to use the living room as my retreat but now I just barely dust it and I am always to be found in mini hibernation at the back of the house! I only come out for air. Thank YOU, you always have good advise to offer, Janine.... You Are,...
    "Serenity Now."

    1. Thanks Am, The work room was a disaster but I have Finally cleaned it up. Wheww, what a lot of work! The art on my living and dining room walls are a set of original pen and ink drawings by a political cartoonist by the name of "Perterson" who was active ini the " age of Prime minister Pierre Elliott Trudeau" in the 1980's. These commissioned works are called the "10 Charlies" and are caricatures of 10 well-known Charlies both past and present. These are very dear to me and I'm happy that you've noticed them and have given me an opportunity to share them with you.

  4. Hello Elizabeth,
First of all i love your living room. Beautiful! Secondly, that is exactly what workroom should look like! I never find anything when I clean my workroom, and when it is in a state of pandemonium, I keep finding things I forgot I had or that just inspire an idea. Clean workrooms are somewhat overrated!
    Big hug,

  5. my craft room also looks like that most of the time. Your living room is stunning! I think the problem for creative people is that we need a second house just for creating things in :)

    1. Hi Kim, thank you for the confession! hahah I should have read this comment first before I asked you about it in my reply in " To Market, to Market". I think a second house sounds like a very good idea! Perhaps that is what writers think and feel when they go off to their retreats and/or their cabins in the woods. I used to work on my dining room table which is 5' square which I covered every square inch of! Not only was I not happy because of the mess BUT, there was no where to go to escape it! Now, I have my daughters old bedroom and so it can all be contained when it becomes too overwhelming! Thanks again for your comments KIm, I enjoy them.

  6. First, WOW! Beautiful living room. I can see why you like to spend time in there, however, my cluttered mind would be much more comfortable in that lovely messy workroom. :-)

Don't feel bad, I think most of us suffer from the same issues. The only reason I'm not dealing with a messy workroom myself is that it is in transition from one house to the other. HAHA

    Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thanks Dale! I used to use the living room a whole lot more than I do now. Now, I am a semi-permanent fixture in this tiny work room. Snug as a bug in a rug! But I still venture out into the real world when I HAVE too. hahah I am in good company so far, everyone seems to have a messy space that they create in, or does "creative" just mean messy? Hhmmm?

  7. Love your living room, Elizabeth! As for your workroom, well?!!! I've seen worse in blogland, believe me. You're lucky to have one, whether it's messy or tidy.

  8. Lucille, you crack me up!!! You've seen worse in Blogland, is tooooo funnny! I suppose it is all a matter of perspective. If your happy in it untidy then, it really is not a mess it is perfectly fine but for me there is a limit and after I destroy that precarious balance of okay and not okay, then I can't focus on what I'm trying to do, because of the distraction of what I should first be doing. In any case, the chaos has now been contained and put to rights. After all is said and done, you are absolutely right, Lucille, I am blessed to have a room to work in at all. Thank you for reminding me of that! This could all be back on my dining room table!!! NOOOOOOOOOOooooooo!!!
