When I was in middle school, we use to have a paperback text book entitled "Words are Important".
This was a vocabulary exercise book that we always had for homework and which I rarely did. I use to madly try to scribble something just before class began and then keep my head down , ( under the radar), so that the teacher would NOT SEE ME ( as if ) so that I didn't get called on and have to stand up and recite the word, with the definition, in front of everybody. I hated that class, for no good reason, other than I was Never prepared. I knew what I was suppose to do but I would rather play at home and watch cartoons on t.v. than do my homework. Not much has changed, over the years; I would Still rather play!
What has this got to do with anything, you wondered? Well....
At this time I would like to extend, WORDS OF WELCOME to all my newest followers, and whom I should now like to thank for following this blog. I want also to say how much I have enjoyed reading your comments and the exchange of information and ideas via this blog and/ or, your own. I remember that last year, about this time, I was brand new myself at navigating the various blogs and how uncertain I was in blogland, and so I just visited, and as my friend Janine says, I "LURKED". By lurking, I came to see how vital it is to leave words of encouragement and how much energy is harnessed by having the feedback back from others is. So not only welcome to you, but also deep gratitude that so many of you have taken the time to leave comments and to let you all know how IMPORTANT you WORDS are to me. Your interest makes me always want to try more and do better and to share what I have learned with you, because of all the collective energy that you share back with Me. Your Words have helped us to develop Relationships with each other, within this venue and because of them, I feel that I have met and found some New, Fascinating and Talented friends that I would not otherwise have known. So with out further preamble, a Studio E 'shout out' to......

Elizabeth, your followers gain so much from following and commenting on your blog. Apart from the fabulous miniatures you make and your willingness to share how you made them, you never fail to inspire and encourage. I am so glad I stumbled across your blog some months ago and made a special blog friend in the process.
ReplyDeleteHi Sharee! What a lovely compliment but you know this Welcome was directed at Thanking al of you and here you are thanking Me!? Well,... I am still Thanking You ( so there!) and I am Delighted that you are here too, Sharee!

Hi Elizabeth! I LOVE Words!!! I agree one hundred percent they are important! But I also know that sometimes we are struck "dumb" with Wonder and just don't know how to express it! I am very glad that you started blogging... and that you "found your voice"!!! It is so much more fun that way! And thank YOU for your wonderful comments on my blog too!
ReplyDeleteHi Betsy! Do I ever know That Feeling of being "dumbstruck"! People are doing such fantastic miniatures these days! We all want to use our words to try and express our wonder. But In choosing to say Something or Nothing, it is so much nicer to get the feedback than to be left guessing about whether or not your post was of interest to the reader, wouldn't you agree, Betsy? So thank you for all of your comments, each one is cherished.

A big AMEN! And a big THANK YOU to you, for your wonderful blog and all of your words of encouragement! (I am glad that you didn't have to waste your words in middle school as we get to really enjoy them now!)
ReplyDeleteHi Isabelle! Now that school is Way behind me, I have regretted not being more studious while I was in it. I have since grown up to have a passion for words and if I only knew then what I know now...... ahh me! However, my teacher would be happy to know that all was Not in vain! Thank you so much for being here, Isabelle.

Hi Elizabeth! I'm glad you started blogging because you brought something different with you. A different style in so many ways. For instance, your knack for putting a room together. Your capacity to make beautiful things out of little bits and pieces. I think you're a wonderful teacher! I appreciated that time you taught us how to look at beads and all the possibilities inherent to their various shapes. That class you mentioned would have been my favourite class because I have always had a passion for words. I love the things you create. There is something special about them. For instance, that fireplace you made. Charming is the word that comes to mind! I'm so impressed with your gorgeous perfume bottles and all those pretty breakfast trays. You have given out wonderful tutorials and they are always so very well explained. You go to a lot of trouble to accomplish that. There's a lot of work involved in these step by step instructions. I have appreciated all that and I want to thank you. I think you are unique! A breath of fresh air in blog land! Also, I have noticed the well thought out comments you give other bloggers to encourage them. On a more personal note, I am feeling very tired these days and I am thinking of not commenting for a while. I don't even know if I have the energy to read anymore. I need a rest. I don't have a blog as you know. Nevertheless, I have been reading other people's blogs for a long time now and I have always striven to encourage them in their work. But now it has become too heavy. I have already stopped commenting on a lot of blogs. The energy simply is not there. You know, it has stopped being fun. Sad, I think! I will be back when I'm all rested. Take care!
ReplyDeleteHello Lucille! I want to address you first because I am very concerned about the later half of your comment. I have noticed a few times of late, that you have said before on other blogs, about how tired you feel and how you have not been well. I am concerned as a friend, that you have over-taxed yourself and now things are catching up with you physically and now too, even spiritually. I know that blogging requires work, words do not just appear out of Nowhere but that there is always a person behind them and you have been so vocal and supportive for such a long time and with such a vast number of blogs! I see you all over and so there has to be at least a hundred of sites that you have on your reading list. I have only been at this less than a year and sometimes I find I am wearing myself out by burning the candle at both ends, so I don't know how you are managing to juggle them all, Lucille, but when you relay Important information that it has stopped being fun and that you no longer have the energy, well then it is time to Take a Break! I am sorry that it has reached such a critical condition for you and yet I am glad that you have been able to put the words down in black and white and say what is on your heart. I have ALWAYS looked forward to hearing from you Lucille and recall how, from at the very beginning of my blogging 'career', I kept accidently 'wiping you out' by pressing the wrong key; remember? You were always enormously cheerful and natured about it and always enthusiastic with your comments; as well as being wonderfully supportive. I shall miss that but I would much rather that you take the required good rest that you Need to be able to live in the Real Life in a healthy way, than to wear yourself out writing comments. YOU are WAY more important than a blog!
DeleteAnd so my dear, sweet Lucille, PLEASE.... take your 'Blogless Holiday' ( smiles ) and get your self back to the good health that you deserve. We will all be here waiting for you with open arms for whenever you are well enough to return. God bless and keep you in His Care, Lucille.
a BIG HUG, and a HUGE THANK YOU for all that you have done for me, dear friend
from me to YOU.

I never even expected followers when I started my blog. I shocked I was when I started getting comments! LOL! Love reading your blog. I did a black fireplace for Cozy Cottage. I loved the look of yours so much. Okay- mine's not as ornate! Keep doing what you do!
ReplyDeletehugs♥,
Caroline
Hi Caroline! What a great way to start my day! I am delighted that you have found the Fireplace tutorial of some benefit! Yay! Thank you your support and for your comments to me! ( Big Smiles!)

Bonjour Rosethe' I was not a very diligent student but I don't think that in my Wildest dreams that there would Ever be an opportunity to use the lessons from that class in a way such as this!!! The word 'Computer' was NOT in that textbook! Neither was 'Laptop' or 'Internet' or 'Google'! The only " comments" were from the teacher who was grading my work! Nevertheless, I Always appreciate your words, Rosethe' and thank you for each of them!

chère Elizabeth, pour les mots cités ci-dessus, je ne pensais pas les utiliser puisque ne les connaissant pas non plus... lol ! Je pense que malgré le traducteur, je n'ai pas saisi le sens de votre texte. Mille excuses.
DeleteBonne soirée ! rosethé
Dear Rosethe'! I am without excuse. I WAS a careless and lazy student and paid little attention in class. BUT, I would have been by far More diligent if I had known what lay ahead, ... Wouldn't we all!?.... yes, wouldn't we all

Dear Elizabeth,
ReplyDeleteWords are important is so true! My English teacher used a list. His pencil went over the paper and then stopped. We became nervous. Whose name he'll call to come over to his desk.
Comments on a blog are so welcome. I love to read the comments on my blog. So I do know or somebody is interested in my story.
I love to read your blog!
Have a nice weekend and hugs Dorien.
Hi Dorien! Ooooh, Yes,.... there were some teachers that use to do that! Remembering that makes me laugh! You are so right Dorien, comments give you the opportunity to know how if what you have to say is helpful and/or of interest to the reader. How good can a blog be without them? So I thank you so much for taking the time to comment here. Your words are Important to me!

Hello Elizabeth,
ReplyDeleteI think it is just wonderful of you to write such a post. It is so wonderful that people take the time to encourage each other and help keep them going. there is so much madness in the world that it is nice, and important, to remember there are people who care and kind. You always take the time to write such wonderful comments my friend, you are a wonderful force in the miniature community and I cannot tell you how happy I am for the privilege to get to know you...and your work of course.
Big hug,
Giac
Hello Giac! I am so happy that I can count You as part of the regular followers of this blog! I agree that there is more and More Madness, in every corner of the world and so this MinIature world of ours is a temporary Escape from it. God gives each of us different gifts and then wants us to use them for the benefit of others and so that is what I try to do here. In the process, I have met and made friends of some of the most wonderful people. They have used their special talents which always in turn, blesses Me. YOU are one of those special people Giac, Thank you.
ReplyDeleteelizabeth
Hello Elisabeth, I completely agree with everything that Giac has written above. And I would like to thank you as well for commenting so often on my blog, especially for your wise and encouraging words on my post "don't try this at home". They helped me so much, Elisabeth!. You are a valued and appreciated member in Blogland. Hugs, Liduina.
ReplyDeleteHey Liduina, see my reply below Eliana's
DeleteI appreciate your words.
ReplyDeleteYou should know that sometimes it's difficult have time to comment on the all posts, but know that I always see, even if silently, all posts of bloggers friends. ;)
A big hug.
Hello Eliana! Yes, I too sometimes just read because I am too tired or I do not have enough time! We all have soo many blogs to comment on and there are days when it is Just Not Possible! But I always appreciate your words Eliana and the time and thoughtfulness that comes from your heart, my friend.

Hello Liduina! Thank you so much for your encouraging words. I have found your blog so inspiring and those beds were Wonderful! However, I know what it feels like to feel disappointment with something that you had HIGH HOPES for but which you feel has not lived up to its full potential. That is the beauty of comments, it can recharge a low battery and get you moving when you are feeling low and slow and when you are beating yourself up about what you think went Wrong, but comments can help you see What is Right!
ReplyDeleteelizabeth
HI Elizabeth,
ReplyDeleteAlways so nice to hear from you.............you always leave such encouraging comments.........you must have the gift of encouragement for sure.
So appreciate that and you for the nice comments you are so sweet to leave when you come by. Being thankful and grateful can just really
revolutionize a persons life that is for sure, and I can sure say doing my TT post each week, has really done that for me, and am glad that
it is an encouragement to others................
Hope all is well with you and yours,
Have a sweet and restful Sunday,
Blessings, Nellie
Hi Again,
ReplyDeleteJust read your post, it was lovely and so so true.
It is such sweet encouragement that keeps one blogging, as is is nice to know you are striking a cord with someone out there............lol
Thanks for giving us all an E shout out, that was
sweet, and I for one get a great kick out of your blog, you do a such a fine job on your houses.
and you are so right, words are so important...
cause one doesn't know what others think or feel without them..............
Blessings for a great week ahead,
Nellie
Hi Nellie! Thank you for your visit and for the Inspirational Posts that you publish each Thursday. I know that your lists of what You are Thankful for is a personal one but I always come away with the feeling of joy and gratitude. There are uncountable and innumerable blessings that are showered each and every day, in both big or small ways on everyone of us and that we never stop to acknowledge or even think about. Your personal lists make me recall just how good God is to Me and I try to translate that into what I do what I say and how I choose to live. I have people that speak timely and encouraging words to me, here on this blog and outside of it as well. and they seem to come just when I need to hear them the most and that in turn keeps me going. I hope that I can do the same for others too. The power of the Word can implement change in everything.

Hi Elizabeth,
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post! Joining the blog world can be a little daunting, I know I was a little shy to put myself out there. It is such a pleasure as you say to meet people with common interest all the while receiving positive feed back. The miniature groups are so supportive and it has given me great confidence to try things I wouldn't have before. Thank you Elizabeth for always being so encouraging and your blog is truly inspirational, it is so kind of you to share your knowledge with others, it is indeed very valuable and you share with such joy.
I have been a little slow at following up on blogs of late and I recognise how important it is to have that encouragement and build on the friendships we make. So I will endeavour to keep up, there are just so many lovely blogs to look at!!
Thank you again Elizabeth for sharing and I just loved your story on Catherine's blog, it will be so interesting to hear others.
Big Hugs,
Fi XXX
Hi FI! So nice to hear from you once again! I know that you have been busy with commissions and trying to get them done, so first things first! I just love what you have done with the surprise doll's house for your niece and also the thrift store doll's house that you introduced us to. How exciting! New projects to throw yourself into once again. I am still working on mine and now my Christmas deadline is starting to look not so far away as it did. uh oh...... I need to get myself back into gear and get serious instead of whiling the time away on Pinterest! Thanks for your visit Fi and I shall be back to see how your new summer house is progressing real soon!

Hi Elizabeth, You give so much in both your posts and your comments. Thank you for always encouraging others. You are a model of an ideal blogger. I so appreciate the community, the sharing, the give and take of both the writing of posts and writing of comments of blogging. It's what makes blogging worthwhile to me. I've had to do some scaling back in my reading and commenting, because trying to leave comments on every blog is exhausting, especially if the relationship is one-sided. Now I focus on the blogs where I feel a kinship, a relationship of give and take with the blogger. So that is how I've tapered back, for better or for worse. Thanks again for everything you do! Thought-provoking post! xo Jennifer
ReplyDeleteHi Jennifer! I thank you so much for your comment and I agree with your thoughts on how exhausting it can be especially when the relationship is one-sided. It is not a fair exchange if one does all the receiving and not much on giving back! So much of what goes into blogging is so dependent on exchange, whether is is the exchange of opinion or instruction, ideas or encouragement. It is very difficult to get to know each other if their is not the exchange of words between each party! Thank you so much for taking the time today to leave such a wonderful comment Jennifer. I am always delighted to hear from you.

Hi Elizabeth and thanks for the welcome (and for joining my blog too!) I agree, the interaction with people on one's blog is the whole purpose of having a blog and the encouragement and energy harnessed from people leaving comments is just wonderful. Sandie
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandra! I couldn't agree with you more! I like the way that you have captured it all in the phrase " Harnessed Energy". It makes both parties feel involved with each other and gets their batteries charged!
