"Where EVERYBODY knows your Name"

"Wouldn't you like to get away?  Sometimes you wanna go, Where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came...."

These were the lyrics of the huge hit t.v. show from the 1980's called, "CHEERS"and I think the lyrics speak for themselves.  I remember watching that show regularly and following it every week to see what the regular 'pub buddies' were up to.  It was always funny and I would wish that I could be part of it.  Well, this is NO pub but this is where people have collected and decided to sit a spell and share their love of minis with me and each other.  We are a "Collection of Collectors!" (that sounds pretty good)  The latest joiners are Fi, Indy-Poppy, Annie Fryd, J Folk, Kati, and a lady who is a regular follower although she is having trouble with her computer (Fatima to the rescue!!) Joanne. ( I can't see you yet, but I know you're out there!)  Welcome everyone, I'm always glad you came, and now Everybody knows Your name....CHEERS!

    1. You have a wicked sense of humor, my friend. You REALLY make me Laugh Out Loud. Just how do you find the time to do all that you do and still produce the miniatures that you show in your blog??? THAT is why everybody knows YOUR name!!!

I lay NO claim to greatness of any kind! God has been good to me and friends have been gracious to me and the readers have been kind. Thanks from me, to all 3.
Big Hug back at you, Giac!

  3. Hi Lucille, It is always good to be with 'friends' and even though we have all just met, I feel as if we have known each other a very long time, don't you? I am wishing to know more about your Edwardian bed....
did you start it yet? Where are you going to display it; a house a room/ shadow box etc. How did you decide on a style and since you said you made it from bits and pieces, what kind of 'B'and 'P''s did you use? Inquiring minds want to know! .... Hey, EVERYBODY, lets All talk and share what we've done, or are doing or want to do. Please don't just talk about me! Use these comments to tell me if the tutorials work or not, what ypu adjusted or changed, modified etc. Even if you want to know how I did something, ASK! I may not remember, but I'll try and like they say; 24 heads are better than ONE!!!

    1. DEAR READERS; I know I talk a lot and that I can easily fill a comment box from a reply with just a simple "Hello" from you. I started this blog for that very reason, and I talk for a living (in sales) so it a habit as well as a pleasure. But I also want to hear from you too! I don't mean just telling me you like me or like what I do, that is always nice to hear of course, but I also want to know and share what YOUR doing. Otherwise it is a one way conversation. I am serious about sharing. No two people do the same thing the same way and end with the same results. The only way to get better is to chronicle our successes and our failures. I'm willing to give space to any who want to use this comment section to do so. Lucille said she was wanting to start on her Edwardian Bed and Alice said that she was going to try a tray and dress her bed using the foil tutorials and Irene said she thought it was worth a go. So now, I need to know how they are progressing ? It will also assist so many others to know HOW the information translates into your projects, even if you start with something small, I'd LOVE TO HEAR ABOUT IT!
Think of it as a PUBLIC SERVCE that you are doing.( I hope I haven't scarred everybody off with this)

  4. Elizabeth, you're funny! I think you'll be good for me! You're challenging me! I need this because I live alone and I talk to myself all day long. Isn't that funny?!! Hahaha! Well, that's how I keep myself from going nuts. The bits and pieces that comprise the Edwardian bed I made consist of plywood, styrene tubes, paper-covered wires, plastic Hama beads, and foam balls for the finials. I found it a hard build and really talked to myself a lot when I was going through the build! The pattern was taken from a book by Jane Harrop. I sent Jane a photo of it and she really liked it. I was so happy about that. I have not yet dressed it. I fell asleep at five this morning and slept until eleven. I was dragging myself all day. Just too tired to dress a bed. My eldest granddaughter came after work and we had tea and played cards. I will try to work on it tonight.

    1. Lucille, I talk to myself too, NOthing wrong with that, AT ALL! Your bed sounds complex but. intriguing, who is Jane Harrop? Is she regular folk or a miniaturist, too? What did you find the most difficult part of the build? I have put in MANY ALL NIGHTERS just so that I can finish a project, so I know what you mean by "dragging yourself". Are you happy with the finished project and how are you going to get it out to the rest of the world, ie a miniature club show or group? I find that I need feedback and you probably do too. Keep me up to date, if you don't mind. This can be your foot in the door to eventually doing the blog that you mentioned, before! hahah; good therapy!

  5. Elizabeth, Jane Harrop is the author of two books on miniatures. She also has an online store. I'll get back to you regarding the bed, okay! I'll send you a photo when I'm done with it. Take care and have a wonderful day!
