Many miniaturists looking for Quality Artisan Items for their collections, have ordered merchandise from
SWAN HOUSE MINIATURES.

Jodi has just posted about her most recent encounter with this particular vendor and has since found MANY people (myself included), who've had the Unfortunate Experience
of not receiving what they've paid for!

For Warned, is For Armed
Buyer-BE AWARE!

  1. ES bueno tener noticias de los vendedores que no se comprometen a servir con respeto a quien manda su dinero por delante confiando en su honradez.
    Un abrazo

    1. Most of the time we think that it is just a 'one-off' experience so we keep it to ourselves but thanks to Jodi's post, I was made aware of how many others have also been duped by this vendor- Sooooo NOT Good!

  9. Thank you so much for posting this. I thought it was just me. I had saved up for a very special (i.e. expensive!!) artisan rug from them but received a thin, printed, much smaller piece of garbage. My emails were never answered.

    1. I thought his Bait and Switch tactic, was "just me" too- what a RAT!

  10. Thanks for sharing this… I've dropped by to Jodi's blog and it's hard to believe that something like this can happen when buying from a well-known webshop that seems reliable - I mean they're selling pieces from outstanding miniature artists there. It was also frustrating to learn how many miniaturists were affected too - no doubt it was necessary to spread this information.

    1. Public Exposure is the only real weapon we have left to us, regarding his Bad Business Practices.

  11. Hi, Elizabeth - Thank you (and Jodi) for helping to bring to light this vendor's unacceptable and dishonest business dealings. I was trying hard to give him the benefit of the doubt, even after my bad experiences - but after reading of all the others who've had similar problems, I don't think there is any doubt that he's definitely bad news and that everyone possible should be made aware of his ongoing scams.

    1. I had no idea that this was a habitual practice of his until I read Jodi's posting, so all credit goes to her for being brave enough to Call Him Out!
Since my first experience I (like you) thought about giving him another chance but then I would think, "well,if he did it to me once, he MIGHT do it to me again" and that possibility alone got me to move on and look elsewhere.

  12. Es lamentable lo que nos contáis , ya no es una persona sola como dice Marjorie, que puede ser un fallo; así que muchas gracias a ti y a Jodi por contarlo

    1. It IS sad that this vendor uses such under-handed practices when conducting his business. Makes me wonder WHY?

  14. Thank you Elizabeth for bringing this to our attention and the link to Jodi's blog. I have often visited the website for a look but that has been as far as I've gone. I've never ordered from them simply because I wont pay the postage. Now I know I never will!

  15. This morning I'm going to make a big purchase of doors, stairs and more for my dolls house ... luckily I found on ebay what I need, from a seller from whom I have already bought in the past. Reading this post made me sad because I understand that many craft and interesting things can not be found on ebay, and so the trouble can begin ... :(

    1. Yes I readily agree that it is a sad thing when a vendor who could have been a valuable resource is rendered untrustworthy. And although problems may not happen to everyone, with Swan House- they have happened enough!

  17. Yup it is definitely sad, but on the plus side, I would say that there are WAY MORE Honourable Merchants than there are of the "rascals"

  18. Thanks for the info, Elizabeth, as I am looking for small things and I might have gotten something from them. I am just so distraught at the moment. I ordered from Dollhouse Emporium and I had to pay $61.00 in taxes. I paid it because I really wanted my merchandise, but never again will I buy from the UK. I have not ordered anything for a long time but I am trying to make a sincere effort to finish my dollhouse. I will be needing so many small things like ornaments and I don't know where to go. I wonder if I'll have to pay border taxes if I go to the US. Not that many places in Canada.
