THE' WELCOME WAGON'

I recall a time with the new families that moved into a new neighborhood, there was a 'Welcome Wagon'.  People would officially welcome you and they would bring you gifts of baking and lists of who your neighbors were and where the laundry mat and grocery store and dry cleaners were etc. Sometimes several neighbors would bring casseroles till you got settled in, sometimes you received a small box of grocery staples.  Whatever form it took, the intent was to help the 'newbies' to feel welcome and at home.   If that is something that still is carried on, it should never stop.  People lose a lot when they don't get an opportunity to interact with those who live in their vicinity.  I work in sales in a department store and one of the mandates of the store is to greet everybody that is within your immediate area within the first 5 seconds that you see them.  Of course that means that one person can be said "Hello" to as many as 15 to 20 times after they have taken as many steps into the store. Overkill, for sure.  But I know that I have been in retail outlets that have neither acknowledged me or cared whether I was there or not.  I leave disgruntled and determined to not to set foot in there again.  People need to be recognized and that is what I shall do now for the most recent followers.  I'd like to extend a warm Sudio E welcome to Lisa Marie, Wyrna, Quanita, Rosa, Am, Terefer and Janet.  I'm sorry that I don't have any cake to offer, because I ate it all, but I can direct any of you to the dry cleaners! Thanks for being here.

  2. aww thanks I really feel welcomed :D I decided to follow because I found your entries from cutely charming to giggle worthy (the coupler cannister names killed me!) and we all need some laffs in our lives. I also have not quite got my eye in, in relation to spotting mini bits and pieces to make others. Thank you so much for sharing.
but now it's 8am and all I can think about is cake...

  3. Hello Quanita aka "Q'. I am so happy to have you along for the ride. I think spotting mini bits and pieces just takes practice and I am ALWAYS practicing. In my real life I have seen the possibilities in a huge birch branch that I discovered in the park while walking my dogs and came home with it hoisted over one shoulder, dragging on the ground, while trying to hold two leashes and the poopy bag and remain inconspicuous as I crossed a busy street headed for home( with my head down). It must have been a sight but I used the 9 ft. branch in my garden and all the embarrassment has since subsided. haha. I am always happy to share and thank you for sharing your comment! Keep them coming and ask me if there is something your curious about how or where or what. I'm looking for input and involvement from everyone. NOW, go eat some cake.

  4. Welcome Lisa Marie and Wyrna I didn't see you there! I was writing a reply to 'Q' and by the time I hit publish and looked again you and Wyrna , popped up in between. How'd you do that? So to both of you, I thank you for your 'followship'( is that a word?) I'm hoping that everyone will be encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas so that we can all benefit together. I am always interested in what you are doing and how things are turning out in your mini world so feel free to share your success stories here or your questions about how something can be done. I am getting ideas and inspiration from you as I hope you get from me. Again, thank you for being here! Also, know that I am still a novice with the computer so if suddenly you find you or a friend suddenly deleted, it is ME hitting something wrong, AGAIN !

  5. Above is another sample of my computer ineptitude. The very last sentence just above reply/delete was a sentence that I thought I lost as I was typing away merrily to 'Q'. Oh, well, I thought, I'll type something different and then here that incomplete sentence shows up again, out of the blue! Sorry about that, because it makes little sense... " the max. Janine my friend is always commenting on my finds and I am finding myself s...." the rest of that sentence was going to be...' Spending too much money on stuff.' Which is true but then I thought twice about saying it because I will no doubt continue to over-spend on junky stuff because I love transformations! What Else can I Say?
