Where has the Time Gone?

Where has the time gone and how could I have gotten so far behind?  It is my practice to welcome all new followers to my blog individually and I usually keep up but in trying to get my merchandise ready for the West Coast Miniature Show and getting "GOTHICA" finished, I let the list of names compound until now!  So, please bear with me ladies and gentlemen as I take this time now to officially WELCOME all THE NEWEST FOLLOWERS to Studio E:

Keelin, Hannelore, Ana Camara, Rocio,  Minilys Miniatures, Manfred Martsch, Genevieve's Miniacollection, Norma, Rosethe, Liduina, Susi, Christine, David Edward's Miniatures, Yolanda Moran, Treedie, Paky, Minisonja, Sheleen, Ashmita Roy, Sonia, Wendy, Nechiporenko_Tatiana, Neen, Teena Eppler, Patirzia, Linda Carswell, Robin W., Jenny Costa, 17-17 MK, Anna B, Ludmila, Petra, Kitty de Leeuw, Nono, Sarah, Meitan Nukkis, Elis, Andy, Diva, and Chris, Hannah and Abby of the Powellgirls3!

A sincere thank you to one and all for joining my blog! And now that I have gone through the formalities I can get onto the next tutorial that I have planned with a clear conscience and a peace of mind!
So HAPPY to see you here!

  8. I feel terribly guilty that i dont do this welcoming thing :D. I actually came by to say that I had a look for the pattern i made for those bloomers, cant find it, it was just a piece of paper, but I should be able to make another from the finished bloomers. I would like to do a more detailed tutorial on that, but to be honest, i am not much of a seamstress :D I just do a tiny running stitch, i think that is what it is called. Which is good news if you arent much a of a seamstress either. I have one secret up my sleeve, which I wanted to share with people, only i found out my secret has been discontinued. I use tiny black entomology pins to pin the fabric together, they belonged to my dad, and I asked him the make of them to try and find them online so I could share them, but unfortunately, they have been discontinued. Which is very annoying, so my little pin collection is invaluable now :D It is complicated to explain, but basically they are so fine and short that they dont ruch the fabric up to much whilst your sewing along the edge. Other than that, I highly recommend using clear nail hardener (clear polish might work as well, though the hardener is a bit runnier, so doesnt blob) along the edges of the fabric to prevent it from fraying. But I will try to do a tutorial on it sometime, maybe something simpler, with the option to add your own details, the lace on the top for example, was fiddly. That was a long comment :D I had to reply here, because blogspot doesnt notify apparently.

    1. Hello Sarah! I am so surprised that your wonderful Victorian Undergarments are not so complicated to put together as they look! I have heard of those pins used for mounting butterflies and other insects so if not available on-line perhaps one could investigate a club or society that has connections? I appreciate your being so forthcoming but I would STILL like to see just how you constructed the bloomers! They are fabulous and one would NEVER guess that your sewing skills are as nominal as mine! Hahaha Thanks Sarah!

    2. Oh all right, I'll do a bloomer photo tutorial :D So long as you can thread a needle and poke it into the material, and out, in tiny "steps" you'll be fine! I think the silk thread is a must! What I am using is very fine, but Ill put all that stuff into the tutorial. It will be more of a photo diary, but it will show the order of construction.

P.s. thanks for the welcome, I forgot to say, as I was thinking about bloomers! :D

  10. Hello Liduina! You are ALWAYS welcomed and I also love to read Your posts! Your most recent one of the two Victorian beds made of bits of lace and bits and pieces, I really enjoyed. I love stringing This and That together as is made apparent in my previous post with "Gothica". I hope that you have resolved your dilemma with those 2 beds. I know that you were not entirely happy with them but I think that they are wonderful and just need an opportunity to shine! Don't give up on them Ilona, I think that your 'problem child' could turn out to be the " Wonder child' in the end.
